Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church for William C. Anders, 75, of 912 Garfield Place. He died at 1:10 p.m. Friday (Aug. 18, 1978) at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he had been a patient two days. The body will be taken to the church an hour before services. The Rev. Delmar Krueger will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Barrick & Son Funeral Home. Anders had lived at the Garfield address for 30 years. In 1968, he retired after 30 years as a cashier with the Palmer-American National Bank. A member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Anders sang in the church choir for many years and at one time was treasurer and president of the church congregation. He also was a member of the Danville Elks Lodge and the Danville Lions Club. His hobbies were playing the piano and singing barbershop music. Born Jan. 3, 1903 in Danville, he was a son of Albert and Caroline Dahms Anders. His wife, Marie, died in August 1973. He also was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include a son, Dan of Danville; a daughter, Mrs. Bobby (Enid) White of Danville; a brother, Fred of Danville; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Hodge of Danville, and seven grandchildren. The family has asked that memorials be in the form of contributions to the Immanuel Lutheran Church organ fund.
